The Antler Shed is the optional Facebook group for people who want to volunteer, help plan, coordinate run-day support or share club photos. You do not need to join the group or take a role to run with Devon Deer.
Ways to take part
Choose the part that fits.
You can help without attending every run or being free at 6:15 a.m. Choose a regular responsibility, cover when needed, help once or simply follow the conversation.
Behind the scenes
Routes, calendars, notices, volunteer coordination, social publishing, photography, stories, events and partnerships. Some jobs can be done later, from home or once when your schedule allows.
Shared properly
Roles can be co-owned, backed up and supported with a checklist, account access and a hands-on handover.
Optional involvement
The Antler Shed is the club’s behind-the-scenes workroom.
Use it for volunteer coordination, ideas, event planning, run-day help and finding or sharing club photos. Join to help regularly, help once or listen before choosing a role.
Public notices remain on the Facebook Page. Current run details remain on Strava. Social accounts are optional, regular runs remain free and no registration is required. All paces welcome, nobody runs alone.

Someone checks the route. Someone welcomes new faces. Someone confirms the fronty and sweeper. Someone stays for the finishing headcount.
No one has to carry everything. The goal is a dependable team with clear authority, practical handovers and named backup.

What matters most
Reliability, kindness and sound judgment.
Running credentials are optional. Being willing to communicate, ask for help and follow through matters more.
A club role is never leverage. Volunteers must not use access, private information, rides, assignments, visibility or safety support to pursue someone. Read the community standards on power, conflicts and recusal before accepting an ongoing role.
Volunteers do not provide youth supervision. Devon Deer does not conduct criminal record or vulnerable sector checks on volunteers. A Run Host, fronty or sweeper must never accept responsibility for an unaccompanied person under 19 or substitute for their parent or legal guardian.
