The Fall Classic and Penniac Traverse share the same Sunday. That is not a mistake. It is a useful choice between a city road-and-trail-network weekend and a challenging trail race.
Government House · 51 Woodstock Road, Fredericton
A long-running Fredericton weekend on the city’s flat trail network, organized by Capital City Road Runners & Walkers. Sunday starts with the half marathon at 8:30 a.m., 10K at 8:45 and 5K at 9:00.
The 2026 Penniac Traverse is the same Sunday. Choose the surface and distance that fit you.
Penniac and the Nashwaak Valley · Fredericton area
A challenging trail-race choice with climbs, singletrack, views and descents in the Nashwaak Valley. The provincial trail calendar lists 2026 registration as open.

Mactaquac Provincial Park
A fall trail weekend on singletrack and double track with bridges, roots and two stream crossings. The new Saturday 5K was designed with beginning trail runners in mind.
Sunday is nearly cup-less, so participants need their own cup, bottle or bladder.
Clinics are seasonal. A closed registration page can still show what a program is like, but it should never be mistaken for a current invitation.
Capital City Road Runners & Walkers has periodically listed running-clinic pathways connected to a goal event. Its current 2026 events page says updates are still in progress and does not confirm an open clinic.
